Oliver Altermatt is a Melbourne based freelance photographer.
As an artist, Oliver Altermatt seeks to capture the beauty of life through the lens of his camera. His passion for photography started at a young age, and has grown and evolved throughout his life. Oliver's love for the art form has taken him from dark rooms to digital spaces, and from Switzerland to Australia.
Oliver's work is primarily focused on Street Photography, Portraits, Weddings, Events, Folios, Documentary, and Art Nude Photography. He is particularly drawn to the human form, and seeks to capture the essence of his subjects in every photograph he takes. His portraits are deeply personal, revealing the humanity and individuality of each person he photographs.
One of Oliver's most successful projects to date is "Faces Down Under," a portrait series of Aboriginals from Australia along the East, North, and West coasts. This project was exhibited at Photo Schweiz in February 2022, and received critical acclaim for its raw and powerful depictions of Indigenous Australians.
Oliver's solo exhibition, which opened on the 2nd of September in Olten, Switzerland, showcased a selection of his work, including Street Photography, Portraits, and Les baigneuses dans l'océan. Through his art, Oliver seeks to explore the beauty and complexity of the world around us, and to capture moments of life that might otherwise go unnoticed.
